Bathrooms, Same Crew

Bathroom Remodeler in Renton

Hunnu Construction remodels bathrooms as well as kitchens, with the same crew and the same single point of contact. A single bathroom typically runs three to four weeks.

What "Bathroom Remodeling" Means at Hunnu Construction

A bathroom is the smallest room in the house and the most demanding one to build, because nearly every surface in it gets wet. That changes what matters. In a kitchen, the thing that decides whether the job was done well is mostly visible. In a bathroom it is the waterproofing membrane behind the tile and the slope of the shower floor toward the drain, neither of which anybody sees again once the tile is on.

Hunnu Construction runs both the small version and the large one. A vanity swap where the plumbing already lines up is a short job. A full renovation takes the room back to substrate, waterproofs it properly and rebuilds it, and takes three to four weeks. What does not change is that the same crew does the whole room, and that the waterproofing is checked by the person responsible for the finished result rather than by whoever happened to install it.

A Second Room, the Same Crew

Kitchens are the larger part of this business and bathrooms are the second room, done by the same people. That matters mostly for households doing both, which is common: a kitchen and a bathroom together run as one project on one schedule and one quote, about a month and a half to two months, rather than two separate contractor searches a year apart.

It also means the small room gets the same treatment as the big one. One project at a time, the owner on site most days, and a walkthrough at the end that is a real step rather than a formality. A bathroom is small enough that a lot of the trade treats it as filler work between larger jobs, which is exactly how a three-week bathroom becomes a two-month one.

An interior designer reviewing Hunnu Construction on Thumbtack in 2019 wrote: "I'm an interior designer and I've done 5 bathroom projects with them." Five bathrooms with the same crew is a different kind of recommendation from a single happy homeowner, because the designer's own name is on the result every time.

How a Bathroom Remodel Runs

  1. Week 1

    Design Consultation & Material Selection

An in-home visit to measure the room and work out what is actually changing. Vanity, tile, flooring and any shower or tub work get chosen together rather than one at a time.

  2. Week 1–2

    Demolition & Waterproofing

The old fittings come out and the walls and floor are taken back far enough to see what is behind them. Waterproofing goes in before any tile does, and it is the part of a bathroom nobody ever sees.

  3. Week 2–3

    Tile, Flooring, Vanity & Fixtures

Tile goes on the waterproofed substrate, flooring goes down, then the vanity and fixtures are set and plumbed in.

  4. Final Days

    Walkthrough & Punch List

A walkthrough of the finished room together, working through any punch-list items before the job is called done.

Bathroom Remodeling Services

Five ways to work with Hunnu Construction on a bathroom, from a full renovation down to a single vanity.

Bathroom Renovation

When the whole room changes, that is a full bathroom renovation in Renton. Fittings out, walls and floor back to substrate, waterproofing in, then tile, flooring, vanity and fixtures. It is the job where what is behind the tile matters more than the tile.

A single bathroom runs three to four weeks. A bathroom alongside a kitchen runs as one project rather than two.

Bathroom Vanity Installation

A vanity swap is the most contained bathroom job there is, and bathroom vanity installation is often the whole project. The plumbing has to line up with the new cabinet, which is the thing that decides whether it is a day or a week.

Where the new vanity is a different width, the floor and the wall behind it usually need attention too.

Bathroom Tile Installation

In a bathroom, bathroom tile installation is a waterproofing job with a decorative finish. The membrane and the slope of the shower floor are what stop the room failing, and both are invisible once the tile is on.

Shower walls, floors, niches and wet rooms each need a different detail at the joints.

Bathroom Floor Replacement

A bathroom floor gets wet every day, so bathroom floor replacement starts with the subfloor and whether water has already reached it. Around the toilet and the shower is where it usually has.

Tile is the normal answer here for good reasons, though modern vinyl is a genuine option.

Tub-to-Shower Conversion

Taking out a tub nobody uses and putting in a shower that gets used daily is one of the better value changes to a house. A tub-to-shower conversion is mostly a drain and waterproofing job.

The drain has to move and the floor has to slope to it, which is why this is not a fitting swap.

Kitchens Are the Main Silo Here

Bathrooms are the second room Hunnu Construction works in. The first is kitchens, which is the larger part of the business and where most of the finished work on this site comes from. For the kitchen side of the business, including full renovations and the four single-trade kitchen services, see the main kitchen page. A household doing both rooms can cover them in one design consultation.

Waterproofing Before Tile
The part of a bathroom that decides whether it lasts is the part nobody sees. It goes in before the tile and gets checked before it is covered, by the person responsible for the whole room.

Bathroom Remodeling Questions

How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Three to four weeks for a single bathroom. A bathroom alongside a kitchen runs about a month and a half to two months as one project. Only one job runs at a time here, which is why those numbers hold.
Is Hunnu Construction based in Renton?
Yes. Hunnu Construction works from NE 10th Street in Renton and has remodeled bathrooms here since 2018. A second location in Bellevue covers the Eastside.
What is included in a full bathroom renovation?
Demolition, waterproofing, tile, flooring, the vanity and the fixtures, as one project on one quote. Plumbing and electrical are subcontracted to licensed trades and coordinated as part of the same schedule.
Can you convert a tub to a shower?
Yes, and it is a common request in houses with more tubs than anyone uses. It involves moving the drain and sloping the floor to it, so it is a waterproofing job rather than a fitting swap.
What if the bathroom has water damage?
It frequently does, and it usually only becomes visible once the tile comes off. Around the shower and behind the toilet are the two places it is most often found. It gets raised and dealt with before new waterproofing goes in rather than covered over.
Can I use the bathroom during the work?
No, not the one being remodelled. In a single-bathroom house that is worth planning around before work starts, and it is part of what the consultation covers.
Who supplies the tile and the vanity?
You do. The quote covers labour and construction materials, including waterproofing, backer board, thinset and grout. The finishes are yours to choose.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Checks and cash. Hunnu Construction does not currently accept credit or debit cards.
Do you offer a warranty?
A one-year written warranty on our labour, written into the contract before you sign rather than handed over afterwards.
