What Happens After You Get in Touch
The first step is a phone call or the form above, and the second is an in-home visit. There is nothing in between, and no quote is produced before the visit happens.
At the consultation the room gets measured, and the conversation is about how it is actually used rather than what a layout drawing says. That is where the scope gets decided: what has to change structurally, what is cosmetic, and which of those two a given problem really is. A kitchen where the cabinets have failed is a different job from a kitchen where the layout was wrong from the start, and the two get quoted differently.
After that you get one quote covering the whole project, labour and construction materials, with the finishes left for you to choose and supply. If it works, a start date goes in the calendar, and because only one project runs at a time that date is a real one.

- Where is Hunnu Construction based?
- NE 10th Street in Renton. South King County is worked from here and has been since 2018. A second location in Bellevue covers the Eastside.
- Does the design consultation cost anything?
- No, and it carries no obligation. It is an in-home visit to measure the room and work out what the project actually involves, which is the only way to quote it honestly.
- What should I have ready before the visit?
- Nothing in particular. If you already have cabinets or a countertop chosen, bring that. If all you know is that the kitchen does not work, that is a perfectly normal place to start and it is the more common of the two.
- How soon can you start?
- It depends on what is already booked, because only one project runs at a time. You will get a real date at the consultation rather than a placeholder that moves later.
- What forms of payment do you accept?
- Checks and cash. Hunnu Construction does not currently accept credit or debit cards. Worth knowing while you are planning rather than at the final walkthrough, and the schedule of payments gets set out at the consultation.
- Do you give quotes over the phone?
- No. A number given before anyone has seen the room is a number for a different kitchen, and it tends to move once the walls are open. The consultation is free precisely so the quote can be based on the actual room.
- Which cities do you cover?
- Renton, Kent, Tukwila, Newcastle, Maple Valley, Covington, SeaTac and Mercer Island, plus Bellevue and the Eastside.
